magazine changes

I made some changes to my magazine. i first decided that the masthead was not big enough and not close enough together os i changed this while making it a slightly darker red as well. I put my model slighting over the masthead to look more like a professional magazine. This would hopefully make the readers more interested. There is now a circle with the important words in i wanted it to stand out but not to much so i made it slightly translucent. i made the words social media taller to fill more of the magazine and to be more eye catchy. i also made my model slightly lighter by adjusting the levels just so she stood out a little bit more. another change i made was the writing at the top moving it down to the bottom because it wasn't as important as i thought. i made the words different fonts and made some of them bigger and smaller to bring more life to the magazine. 

photo-shoot

This is a photo i liked because of the light that is there it is easy to see and still shows detail while not being to bright however the fact she is smiling is not going to work for my magazine because of the topic and nature of my magazine it is serious so someone smiling would not do it much justice. and might make the readers confused. also another problem was that it was to dark at the bottom and faded out so the lighting was no right even though it was butterfly lighting it could have been lighter at the bottom. 

 one worked well however she was smiling again so the light is good but there pose and facial expression is not. this is down to the instructions i gave my model so i decided to change her facial express to suit my magazine more. however i like the shadows on her face that the lighting creates. it is also very focused.

 This one was good however the eyes that i wanted her to do didn't work as well as i wanted them to. there is no eye contact with the audience now os it is less inviting and actually scary. other than that it was perfect so i changed the eyes and that is how i got my font cover photograph.

However this would have been perfect for my original DPS however i then changed the DPS and there would have been to much space on the picture for my double page spread. i like how you can see the pill bottle with all the different social medias on. however the model is also male so the consistency looses its self as its female on front and male on DPS so i tied this pose again but with my female model.

 this was just a picture i took because i though it would look interesting, it does and i like the detail and the bottle however it would not work on a double page spread as the main picture. it would work as a small picture however there is no room on my DPS for a small picture.

 this one i like but couldn't use because i would have to crop it to much and that would mean loosing some of the image and i would have to stretch it to fit on my DPS. however i like the lighting on this picture.

Photographic Skills

Manual Focus features	x		I used this every time I took a picture like when we took pictures so my pictures where not blurry and they were focused. I used it when I did my photo-shoot and when I did my other photos for first magazine.
Shutter Speed	x		I used shutter speed when I took pictures of leaves falling and when I took pictures of people on bikes. It helped me get a clear picture when the person was moving. You have to change the speed on the camera first to get the picture clear.

ISO Control	x		This was when I went out side and changed it from 200 to 400 etc. to let more light into the picture to make the picture look better and make it clearer.

External flash	x		I used this in the photo-shoot and when I went outside and it was dark this made my models features stand out more.

Light meter	x		This was used during my photo-shoot for my front cover and double page spread.
